President Droupadi Murmu is set to participate in two convocation ceremonies in Gujarat on April 13 and 14. The first ceremony will be held at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot on April 13. Here, the inaugural batch of MBBS students admitted in 2020 will be awarded degrees. A total of 49 students will receive MBBS degrees, with one student receiving a Post Doctoral Certificate in Virology. President Murmu will be the chief guest, delivering the convocation address and presenting medals and degree certificates.
Ten medals will be awarded to MBBS students, including four gold, three silver, and three bronze medals for academic excellence. The ceremony is expected to be attended by approximately 700 people, including graduates, their families, faculty members, and invited guests. Notable attendees may include Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel, and State Health Minister Praful Pansheriya.
On April 14, President Murmu will attend the fifth convocation of Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in Gandhinagar. The event is scheduled for around 5 p.m. at the university’s campus in Lavad-Dehgam. Rashtriya Raksha University, operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is a nationally significant institution focusing on national security and police studies. President Murmu will grace the ceremony as the chief guest, with preparations for her visit currently in progress.
During her last visit to Gujarat in October last year, President Murmu engaged in official activities, including attending a convocation at Gujarat Vidyapith in Ahmedabad.
