Nandan Reddy, co-founder of Swiggy, has resigned from the company, aiming to launch his own startup immediately. Reddy, who played a crucial role in Swiggy’s early operations alongside co-founder Sriharsha Majety, will now focus on his new entrepreneurial endeavor. The company’s exchange filing confirmed Reddy’s departure to pursue fresh professional interests.
Having held various positions at Swiggy over the years, Reddy was recently in charge of Swiggy’s AI-driven concierge service known as “Crew.” His exit follows a series of leadership changes at Swiggy, including the departure of co-founder Rahul Jaimini in 2020. Aakash Bhotika, Swiggy’s Vice President overseeing Crew, will temporarily manage operations until a permanent replacement is named.
Swiggy’s CEO, Sriharsha Majety, acknowledged Reddy’s significant contributions, describing him as a visionary force behind Swiggy’s growth from a local startup to a national platform serving millions. While Reddy’s absence will be felt, Majety expressed confidence in Reddy’s future pursuits. Reddy’s exit coincides with the recent departure of Abhishek Agarwal, head of investor relations at Swiggy.
In addition to these changes, Swiggy is undergoing shifts at the board level, with Roger Clark Rabalais stepping down as Prosus’ nominee director. Renan De Castro Alves Pinto will succeed Rabalais in this role. Swiggy is also proposing the appointment of co-founder Phani Kishan and CFO Rahul Bothra as board members, pending shareholder approval.
