President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a four-day tour to Goa, Karnataka, and Jharkhand starting Saturday. She will kick off her visit by traveling to Goa on Saturday evening. The following day, she will partake in a sea voyage on a submarine from Karwar Harbour in Karnataka.
On December 29, President Murmu will attend the centenary celebrations of Ol Chiki in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Additionally, she is scheduled to deliver a speech at the 15th convocation ceremony of NIT, Jamshedpur on the same day. Wrapping up her tour on December 30, the President will address an Antarrajyiy Jansanskritik Samagam Samaroh – Kartik Jatra in Gumla, Jharkhand, as per an official statement.
Earlier, President Murmu conferred the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar upon 20 children from 18 states and union territories in recognition of their remarkable accomplishments in various fields like art, culture, sports, and innovation. She expressed her blessings to the awardees and lauded their families for their support.
President Murmu shed light on the significance of Veer Bal Diwas, observed annually on December 26 to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the Sahibzades, the sons of Sikhism’s tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. She praised Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi and her team for organizing the event for these talented children. Remembering the historical sacrifices made by Guru Gobind Singh and his sons, President Murmu highlighted the enduring courage and legacy of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh.
