The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check unit refuted a false claim circulating on social media alleging that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh supported the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). PIB Fact Check labeled the claim as fake news and warned against believing such misleading propaganda online. The Defense Minister did not make any statement in support of BLA, clarifying that the viral claim was fabricated.
PIB Fact Check advised people to report suspicious content related to the Central government through official channels like WhatsApp and email. The fake post wrongly attributed statements to Rajnath Singh, claiming India’s support for BLA. However, PIB Fact Check emphasized that the Defense Minister made no such remarks.
During an event in Maharashtra, Rajnath Singh inaugurated a private sector Defense manufacturing complex and launched India’s first 300-km Universal Rocket Launching System, ‘Suryastra’. He stressed the significance of indigenous Defense manufacturing, stating that a nation capable of producing its own weaponry shapes its destiny. Singh highlighted the importance of advanced munitions, automation, and indigenous technological capabilities in future warfare scenarios.
The Defense Minister underscored the need for self-reliance in Defense production, citing global conflicts and India’s initiatives like ‘Make-in-India’ and the Technology Development Fund. He reiterated the government’s commitment to making India a hub for munitions and automated systems.
