Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at a rally in Assam’s Hojai, indirectly targeted the Gandhi family, accusing the Congress of prioritizing dynastic interests over public welfare. Without naming anyone specifically, PM Modi criticized the Congress for its “family-first” approach, contrasting it with the BJP’s focus on development and governance.
PM Modi took a veiled swipe at the Nehru-Gandhi family, stating that the party is focused on serving a “shahi parivar (royal family)” in Delhi and Assam. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to improving Assam through sustained development efforts, working with the principles of “nation first” and “people first.”
Highlighting corruption allegations against Congress, PM Modi mentioned members of the “royal family” being out on bail in various cases, questioning the party’s credibility. He also criticized Congress-ruled states like Himachal Pradesh for failing to deliver on promises made to voters, accusing them of betraying public trust.
Reiterating the BJP’s development agenda, PM Modi assured voters of progress, stability, and better living standards for the people of Assam. He also addressed the issue of infiltration, accusing Congress of supporting infiltrators and vowed to reclaim lands for the indigenous people of Assam.
