Prime Minister Narendra Modi Attends Bagurumba Festival Celebrating Bodo Culture

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Bagurumba Dwhou, a cultural event honoring the Bodo community’s heritage at Sarusajai Stadium in Assam. He highlighted his frequent visits to Assam and his efforts to promote the state’s art and culture on a national and global scale. PM Modi praised the vibrant celebrations of Assam’s identity at the Bagurumba festival and extended his best wishes to the event participants.

The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of Bagurumba Dwhou in honoring the Bodo tradition and commemorating influential figures in the Bodo society. He recognized the contributions of notable personalities like Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma and Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma to social reform and cultural resurgence. PM Modi reiterated the BJP’s commitment to preserving Assam’s rich culture and heritage, acknowledging the state’s historical importance in India’s narrative.

Under the BJP government, Assam has witnessed the organization of grand cultural events like Bagurumba Dwhou and the national recognition of Bihu. Efforts have led to UNESCO’s inclusion of Charaideo Moidam in the World Heritage list, and the Assamese and Bodo languages have received official recognition and support for their preservation and promotion. PM Modi also highlighted the government’s initiatives to honor historical figures and traditions integral to Assam’s cultural fabric.
