To celebrate actor Vijay Varma’s birthday, Prime Video unveiled the teaser for his upcoming drama “Matka King.” Scheduled for a world premiere on April 17, the series, created by Abhay Koranne and directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, is set in 1960s Bombay. It follows the story of Brij Bhatti, a resourceful cotton trader who introduces the ‘Matka’ gambling system, transforming a local pastime into a national sensation.
Backed by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, and others under Roy Kapur Films, Aatpat, and SMR Productions, “Matka King” stars Vijay Varma alongside Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, and other notable actors. The drama’s ensemble cast also includes Vineet Kumar Singh, Bharat Jadhav, and Gulshan Grover, among others. The makers shared a sneak peek on social media, hinting at the intriguing storyline of the protagonist’s rise in a dynamic world.
