The Pro Wrestling League (PWL) is gearing up for its fifth season with a player auction in New Delhi. Over 250 wrestlers will be up for bidding at the event, marking the league’s return after a six-year break. The auction will categorize wrestlers into A+, A, B, and C groups based on their performance and international rankings.
The auction pool includes a mix of top international competitors and Indian stars, with base prices ranging from 18 lakh for A+ wrestlers to 3 lakh for Category C. Notable names in the A+ category feature Japanese legend Yui Susaki, Cuban Olympian Yusneylis Guzman Lopez, and Ukrainian medalist Iryna Koliadenko.
In the A category, wrestlers like Deepak Punia, Sujeet Kalkal, and Arsen Harutyunyan stand out, while the B category boasts talents such as Odunayo Folasade and Hadi Vafaeipour. The C category includes promising Indian talents like Jaideep and Chandermohan, alongside international athletes like Karla from Canada.
With a total purse of 12 crore, each of the six franchises will have 2 crore to build their squads. Teams will compete in nine weight categories, ensuring gender balance and comprehensive representation. The league aims to promote emerging talent by mandating each squad to include at least one Category C wrestler.
The structured auction system and squad regulations will play a vital role in shaping team strategies for the upcoming season. Scheduled from January 15 to February 1, 2026, the Pro Wrestling League 2026 promises intense competition with top Indian and international wrestlers.
