Punjab’s Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, visited Jalandhar to oversee the investigation into the murder of Aam Aadmi Party member Satwinderpal Singh, also known as Lucky Oberoi. During a high-level meeting with senior police officials, he emphasized the state government’s commitment to upholding law and order and ensuring that the culprits face legal consequences. The Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, has been actively monitoring the case’s progress.
At the crime scene, DGP Yadav, accompanied by Jalandhar’s Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, assured the public of a thorough and professional investigation. The victim was shot by unidentified individuals while leaving a gurdwara in Jalandhar’s Model Town. The police are diligently examining all leads and have gathered mobile tower data for technical analysis to progress the case further.
CP Dhanpreet Kaur disclosed that initial findings suggest the suspects, wearing black hoodies, escaped on a scooter after the attack. An FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Division 6 in Jalandhar Commissionerate. The authorities are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice is served.
