Punjab Police, led by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, have dismantled a module linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) by apprehending two associates of foreign-based handlers. The arrests were made in Chandigarh, with the recovery of two hand grenades from the suspects. The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Ajay from Ajnala and Jodhbir Singh from Amritsar.
The police operation also resulted in the seizure of a motorcycle belonging to the arrested individuals. DGP Yadav disclosed that the recovered hand grenades were part of a larger scheme aimed at targeting government establishments and infrastructure to disrupt peace and order in Punjab. Further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional links within the network and identify other involved associates.
According to DGP Yadav, the police received credible information about the distribution of hand grenades by foreign-based handlers to their associates. Acting swiftly on this intelligence, police teams intercepted Ajay and Jodhbir Singh at a checkpoint in Amritsar, where the hand grenades were found in their possession. The authorities are actively pursuing leads to unravel the full extent of the conspiracy and potential accomplices in the case.
