Punjab Police have successfully prevented major terror schemes by seizing a significant amount of militant equipment, including a rocket-propelled grenade, explosives, and high-end pistols. This recovery is linked to the recent railway track explosion near Shambhu in Patiala district, where an individual named Jagroop Singh lost his life while attempting to plant an explosive device.
In a swift operation, the police arrested four radicalized individuals associated with the module and confiscated hand grenades, pistols, communication devices, and laptops from them. The recovered military arsenal, which includes various weapons and communication tools, was found based on information provided by the arrested suspects.
According to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the investigation has uncovered connections to a Malaysia-based entity providing financial support, with links to individuals in the United States and Pakistan. The police are now probing the module’s potential involvement in previous terror incidents, such as the Sirhind railway track explosion and a grenade attack on CIA Moga in 2025.
