The “Carry On Jatta” film series, initiated in 2012 and directed by Smeep Kang, features Gippy Grewal and Mahie Gill. The upcoming fourth installment, set to release on June 26, promises a fresh narrative filled with comedic twists, mistaken identities, and family mayhem. Grewal, a multifaceted artist, ventured into acting with the 2010 Punjabi film “Mel Karade Rabba” and has since been part of successful projects like “Lucky Di Unlucky Story” and “Jatt James Bond.”
In addition to his film endeavors, Gippy Grewal recently released the single “Phulkari” and starred in the historical drama “Akaal: The Unconquered.” This film, set in 1840s Punjab post the demise of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, portrays the heroic resistance of Sikh warrior Akaal Singh against adversarial forces. Released on April 10, 2025, coinciding with Vaisakhi, the movie marks Dharma Productions’ entry into Punjabi cinema, featuring a talented cast including Nimrat Khaira and Gurpreet Ghuggi.
