PV Sindhu secured her first Japan Open title, breaking a two-year drought for a BWF World Tour crown with a victory over four-time champion Yamaguchi in Tokyo. This triumph marks her most significant Tour title since her wins at the World Tour Finals in 2018 and the China Open in 2016. Additionally, this win at the Japan Open is her first BWF World Tour title since claiming victory at the Syed Modi tournament in December 2024, ending a seven-year quest for a Super 750 or above title.
