Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu found herself stranded at Dubai Airport en route to Birmingham due to flight disruptions caused by escalating tensions between Iran and the US-Israel. Sindhu, on her way to the All England Open, described the last few hours as “extremely tense,” with reports of interceptions and explosions near their location at the airport.
Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medallist, was traveling from Bangalore to Birmingham with a layover in Dubai. However, events beyond their control led to the closure of airspace, leaving them stranded at the airport. In a video message, Sindhu expressed the shock of experiencing such a situation up close, emphasizing the unexpected nature of such events.
The shuttler’s coach was in close proximity to an explosion, necessitating a quick evacuation from the area.
