Kargil Vijay Diwas is a significant event in Indian history, symbolizing the triumph of the Indian armed forces over Pakistan in the 1999 conflict. This year marks the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, celebrating the valor and sacrifice of the soldiers who defended the motherland. The conflict originated in May 1999 when Pakistani forces infiltrated the Line of Control, aiming to isolate troops on the Siachen Glacier. In response, the Indian Army launched Operation Vijay, supported by the Indian Air Force’s Operation Safed Sagar and full naval deployment, with a strategic approach of contain, evict, and deny without crossing the LoC.
