Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi had to cancel his planned trip to Uttarakhand due to unfavorable weather conditions. He returned to Delhi from Pant Nagar midway through his visit. Gandhi expressed regret over the cancellation but assured residents of a future detailed engagement on economic and social issues affecting the state.
Gandhi, in a video message, explained that his visit was disrupted as the pilot refused to fly to Almora for a public meeting due to the adverse weather. He had arrived in Pantnagar earlier with plans to continue his journey by helicopter. However, the severe weather conditions made it impossible to proceed as scheduled.
During his intended visit, Gandhi was scheduled to participate in various programs, including a meeting with ex-servicemen in Pauri Garhwal and a visit to a gym owned by physical trainer Deepak in Kotdwar. Deepak, known for his stand against religious harassment, had garnered attention for defending secular values in his community, leading to tensions between Congress and BJP supporters.
In a message to the people of Uttarakhand, Gandhi expressed eagerness for a future visit to address their concerns and collaborate on initiatives for the state’s improvement. He emphasized the importance of listening to residents’ issues and working together to fulfill their aspirations.
