The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has demonstrated its commitment to passenger safety through successful operations in various locations. NFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, reported the arrest of three individuals in separate operations, leading to the recovery of stolen mobile phones.
In one instance, the Anti Drugging Squad in Guwahati apprehended a suspect aboard the New Delhi-Guwahati Purvottar Sampark Kranti Express for theft. Two mobile phones, valued at around Rs 30,000, were retrieved. The accused and recovered items were handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Guwahati for legal action.
Another operation at Katihar Railway Station in Bihar resulted in the recovery of a stolen mobile phone worth approximately Rs 32,000. The individual was detained by the RPF Post at Katihar (East) and transferred to the GRP, Katihar, with a case registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further, the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB) team in Rangiya, Assam, apprehended a person on the New Tinsukia-Amritsar Express at Rangiya Railway Station. Two stolen mobile phones, valued at around Rs 25,000, were seized, and the accused was handed over to the GRP, Rangiya, for legal proceedings.
These successful operations highlight the vigilance and prompt actions of RPF personnel in safeguarding passengers and their belongings. The Northeast Frontier Railway emphasizes its dedication to providing a secure travel environment and urges passengers to report any suspicious activities promptly to railway authorities.
