Rajasthan BJP spokespersons Ramlal Sharma and Kailash Verma criticized Congress leaders Govind Singh Dotasra and Pratap Singh Khachariyawas for spreading misleading information about mining in the Aravalli range. Sharma highlighted the Congress’ history of misleading the public through appeasement politics, including on issues like the Citizenship Amendment Act and Special Intensive Revision. He assured that no harm will come to the Aravalli range under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government.
Sharma emphasized that both the state and Central governments aim to define the Aravalli protected area clearly and impose a ban on illegal mining. He stated that no new mining leases will be issued until a comprehensive plan based on the new definition is prepared. The BJP leader pointed out discrepancies in the Congress’ past actions, such as issuing numerous mining leases in 2002 and allowing mining within 100 meters of the Aravalli range.
The BJP spokesperson accused the Congress of trying to divert attention from its failures by baselessly attacking the BJP-led Rajasthan government. He challenged the Congress leaders to name a single environmental conservation or tree-plantation campaign initiated by their party. Sharma highlighted BJP’s efforts in environmental conservation, including campaigns like “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” and extensive plantation drives covering 750 acres.
Kailash Verma, another BJP spokesperson, criticized Congress leaders for their lack of understanding regarding the Aravalli Hills and their continuous spread of misinformation for political gains. He condemned the use of derogatory language by Congress leaders and accused them of politicizing issues to stay relevant. Verma also addressed the controversy over renaming schemes, contrasting the BJP’s approach with the Congress’ historical naming practices.
