Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed the state government’s dedication to elevating Rajasthan’s stone industry to a prominent position in the nation. Speaking at the India StoneMart inaugural session in Jaipur, he highlighted the industry’s rich heritage, global acclaim, and promising growth prospects. Sharma emphasized the unique identity of Rajasthan stones, noting their significant presence in prestigious institutions, historic forts, and palaces nationwide.
The Chief Minister urged entrepreneurs to collaborate, stating that India StoneMart signifies a vision for a revitalized Rajasthan and serves as a global platform showcasing India’s natural stone industry’s strength and potential. He commended the organizers – C-DOS, RIICO, and Laghu Udyog Bharti – for their efforts in hosting the event. Sharma also outlined key enhancements at the exhibition, including a multilingual website, a dedicated mobile app, and an expanded exhibition area to enhance global outreach.
Underlining India’s emergence as a global manufacturing hub under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Sharma praised initiatives like Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat for boosting industry confidence. He highlighted the global recognition of Indian granite, marble, and sandstone, emphasizing the country’s evolution into a hub for value addition and innovation. Sharma described this as a significant opportunity for the stone sector.
The Chief Minister emphasized the Rajasthan government’s efforts to provide a stable and investment-friendly environment for industries, particularly the stone sector. Measures such as a single-window clearance system, improved industrial infrastructure, streamlined logistics, and simplified procedures have facilitated business establishment for entrepreneurs. He noted that projects worth Rs 8 lakh crore, out of the Rs 35 lakh crore MoUs signed during the Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit, are already in progress.
