Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas has instructed officials to ensure that cases of crimes against women are resolved within 60 days, with updates on every FIR status due within two months. He emphasized the importance of prompt MedLEPR training, quick onboarding of the ‘Nyay Shruti’ system, and regular district-level meetings of public prosecutors. Srinivas also stressed the need for efficient investigations, advocating for the strengthening of technology-driven policing through tools like Zero FIRs and e-FIRs.
During a meeting at the Government Secretariat, the Chief Secretary reviewed the implementation of new criminal laws and Smart Policing initiatives. He urged officials to maximize citizen-centric services such as SMS alerts, online case tracking, and e-summons. Srinivas highlighted the significance of training investigating officers in handling electronic evidence and enhancing coordination among various components of the criminal justice system.
In the pursuit of improved quality, transparency, and timeliness of investigations, Srinivas emphasized the optimal use of technological platforms. He directed that forensic investigations be prioritized in serious cases and that forensic teams be promptly available at crime scenes. SCRB IG Ajay Pal Lamba mentioned that the integration of forensic tools and digital systems has enhanced case disposal rates, expediting the judicial process overall.
Senior officials from departments including Medical and Health, Finance, Home, and IT, along with key personnel like ACS (Home) Bhaskar Atmaram Sawant and DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma, attended the meeting. The focus remains on enhancing coordination and leveraging technology to streamline investigations and improve the criminal justice system.
