Jaipur, Aug 15 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Saturday announced, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 90 development works worth around Rs 807 crore in Bikaner district, covering healthcare, education, roads, electricity, agriculture and administrative infrastructure.

Addressing a programme in Meghasar, the Chief Minister said the projects would accelerate development across Bikaner and improve access to essential public services.

Among the major announcements was the establishment of a new Mini Secretariat in Lunkaransar, aimed at bringing administrative services under one roof.

The state government also announced a Sub-District Hospital and modern trauma centre in Sridungargarh at a cost of Rs 25 crore.

For Bikaner city, the Chief Minister announced a new overbridge at Museum Circle to ease traffic congestion.

Other announcements included a new Ayurvedic dispensary in Bikaner West and strengthening of the Euro Sciences building at SP Medical College.

“In the education and healthcare sectors, the Meghasar Sub Health Centre will be upgraded to a Primary Health Centre, while a government primary school in Khajuwala will be upgraded to an upper-primary school.”

“New government primary schools were also announced at Chak 610-200 RD, opposite Dudi Petrol Pump in Sattasar and Jeevan Singh Ki Dhani.”

During the programme, Chief Minister Sharma formally inaugurated 74 completed development works worth Rs 664 crore.

The projects include 47 solar power plants worth more than Rs 371 crore under PM-KUSUM Components A and C. Road infrastructure projects worth Rs 105 crore include the widening and renovation of MDR Palana-Khajuwala, Bhurasar-Ballar and Poogal-Makeri roads.

Other inaugurated works include a 132 KV Grid Sub Station (GSS) at Haddan worth Rs 24 crore, development work at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) in Bikaner worth Rs 15 crore, the Marudhara Botanical Garden at Bichwal worth Rs 5 crore, and a new community health centre building at Muqam costing Rs 5 crore.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for 16 new projects with a combined estimated cost of Rs 143 crore.

Key projects include a 220 KV GSS and transmission line at Sheruna worth Rs 98 crore and a new Bikaner Development Authority (BDA) office building costing more than Rs 36 crore.

Sub Health Centre buildings will also be constructed at Gajsukhdesar, Bagseu, Lilka, Ratadiya, Bidasaria, Jakhasar Naya, Raner and Mithadiya at a combined cost of around Rs 4.5 crore.

During the event, CM Sharma unveiled an Ashtadhatu horse-mounted statue of Veer Shiromani Megho Ji, regarded as the founder of Meghasar.

The Chief Minister said the statue would inspire future generations to uphold the values of sacrifice, bravery, courage and service to the nation.

Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajasthan Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, MLAs and other public representatives attended the programme.

Speaking about the state government’s welfare measures, CM Sharma said the annual PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi amount in Rajasthan has been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000.

He also said more than Rs 61,000 crore in electricity-bill subsidies has been provided to farmers in the state.

On employment and recruitment, the Chief Minister said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to tackle paper leaks has helped strengthen the examination system.

He said appointments have been made to more than 1.78 lakh posts, while recruitment for more than 1.32 lakh additional posts is currently underway.

The Chief Minister added that the projects announced and inaugurated in Bikaner will contribute to the district’s long-term development while improving infrastructure and essential services for residents.
