Jaipur, Aug 18 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has directed District Collectors to regularly inspect the quality of construction works and take strict action against negligent officials and contractors.
He said ensuring basic amenities for citizens and balanced development from remote hamlets to urban areas remain top priorities for the Rajasthan government.
The Chief Minister issued the directions on Tuesday while reviewing projects worth around Rs 60,000 crore and the progress of various ongoing schemes during the eighth meeting of Raj Unnati at the Chief Minister’s Office.
CM Sharma instructed District Collectors to monitor sanitation, drinking water supply, roads, street lighting and waste collection. Complaints related to these services should be resolved on priority, while officials and contractors found responsible for negligence should face action. He stressed effective coordination among departments in cases requiring joint intervention and directed administrations to deploy additional workforce wherever necessary to ensure uninterrupted public services.
The Chief Minister noted that the monsoon often brings problems such as waterlogging, damaged roads, power disruptions and accidents. He urged district administrations to respond promptly and sensitively to such issues. The state government has allocated Rs 10 crore to each Municipal Corporation, Rs 3 crore to each Municipal Council and Rs 1 crore to each Municipality for road repairs and other essential works. Sharma directed District Collectors to constitute committees and begin necessary repairs immediately, including drains, culverts and road shoulders.
He instructed officials to conduct regular quality checks and physically inspect progress. Ensure adequate lighting on major roads, intersections, markets, and public places, and repair non‑functional streetlights immediately. District Collectors were also directed to monitor the VB‑G Ram‑G initiative personally. Reviewing the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Sharma said around 3 lakh units have already been installed in Rajasthan and directed officials to complete the remaining installations by March 2027. He said the scheme would help Rajasthan move towards energy self‑reliance and strengthen its position as a national leader in renewable energy.
The Chief Minister instructed the Chief Secretary to streamline the bank loan facility linked to the scheme. He also directed officials to expedite land acquisition for the doubling of the Ringas‑Sikar railway line and reviewed ongoing work at 60 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Regarding the proposed ESI Medical College in Jaipur, Sharma directed officials to identify suitable land at the earliest and begin construction. He described the commencement of the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery as an important milestone for the state’s development.
With allied industries expected to grow around the refinery, he said traffic movement would increase significantly. Officials were instructed to expedite widening of the existing highway from the Pachpadra bypass on NH‑25 to the Patau interchange into a four‑lane road. The Chief Minister announced that 4,000 hoppers would be deployed across urban local bodies under the GCC model for door‑to‑door collection of solid waste. He directed officials to complete the tender process without delay.
While reviewing the Agri Stack project, Sharma instructed officials to achieve 100 per cent registration in the Farmer Registry, link it with land mutation records and complete geo‑referencing of the remaining villages. He directed officials to complete pending works under the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Health Infrastructure Mission on a mission‑mode basis, ensure prompt land allocation for construction and put medical equipment to effective use.
The Chief Secretary was instructed to conduct regular progress reviews. Reviewing grievances received through the Rajasthan Sampark Portal and other channels, Sharma directed officials to resolve pending complaints quickly and effectively. He ordered a detailed investigation into the loss of a residential lease file belonging to Mukesh Kumar Gupta at the Karauli Municipal Council. He directed strict action against personnel found responsible.
The Chief Minister emphasised that complaints received through public grievance mechanisms must not remain pending and that accountability should be fixed wherever negligence is established.
