Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma commended the Centre’s decision to significantly reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel, citing it as a crucial relief for citizens amidst global uncertainties.

CM Sharma applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that the move demonstrates strong governance during challenging times. He welcomed the decrease in central excise duty on petrol from Rs 13 to Rs 3 per litre and on diesel from Rs 10 to zero, describing it as a praiseworthy initiative.

The Chief Minister emphasized that this decision would bolster the economy of numerous families nationwide and safeguard them from global fluctuations. In light of fuel supply concerns and price volatility, CM Sharma urged the public to disregard misinformation and remain calm, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts for the state and country’s progress.

The reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel by the Centre comes at a critical juncture marked by soaring global crude prices and stress in domestic fuel markets. With India’s crude basket nearing Rs 149 per barrel due to escalating tensions in West Asia, the move is expected to alleviate inflationary pressures and offer relief to consumers.
