Rajasthan Police’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has made a significant breakthrough by confiscating 88.970 kg of illegal opium latex worth around Rs 4.5 crore in the global market. The operation, known as “Operation Jamuhar,” uncovered the contraband hidden in a secret compartment under a truck in Sirsa district, Haryana, during transit from Manipur to Rajasthan.
This successful operation is considered a major achievement in the fight against drug trafficking by the ANTF. Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma praised the operation as a testament to the Rajasthan Police’s dedication to dismantling organized drug networks that operate across state borders. The ANTF, led by Inspector General Vikas Kumar, collaborated closely with Haryana Police to carry out the operation.
Intelligence reports had indicated a sophisticated drug trafficking network moving large quantities of narcotics from Manipur and other northeastern states to Rajasthan. The ANTF’s investigation focused on Sukhram Bishnoi from Pali district, who emerged as a key suspect due to his frequent travel between Manipur and Rajasthan. Despite the suspect’s efforts to evade surveillance, the ANTF maintained close watch on his activities, leading to the interception of the illicit consignment in Haryana.
