Rajasthan has experienced a notable decrease in crimes against Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), with officials attributing this improvement to the enhanced enforcement of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and closer scrutiny of investigations. The state has witnessed an overall 28% reduction in atrocities against SC/ST communities between 2023 and 2025.
During a State-Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting in Jaipur, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety, dignity, and constitutional rights of SC/ST communities as a top priority. He urged officials to take strict action against wrongdoers and support initiatives that promote social harmony statewide.
Data presented at the meeting highlighted positive trends, including a 15.88% decrease in registered atrocity cases in 2025 compared to 2024, and a further 15.49% reduction in cases during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.
