The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) conducted a significant operation by demolishing 1,119 illegal constructions in the Jangleshwar area. This action is part of a broader initiative to clear 1,489 identified encroachments along the Aji River and the Town Planning Road. The remaining structures are scheduled to be removed by Tuesday evening.
The demolition process was carried out under tight security measures. Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, addressing the State Assembly complex, emphasized that the operation aimed to reclaim government land and restore law and order in the locality. Deputy CM Sanghavi highlighted that the demolition proceedings in Jangleshwar were initiated on the same day.
He pointed out that government plots had been unlawfully occupied, leading to the construction of substantial houses that were rented out to residents. Stressing a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal encroachments, he assured that government land would be reclaimed and the rule of law reinstated. The completion of Phase-1 of the operation was expected by Tuesday evening, after which public facilities would be developed for convenience.
