The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon on Monday due to uproar over alleged police brutality towards protesting students in Delhi during paper leak demonstrations. Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan called for discussions after members and ministers presented papers and reports. Despite requests to hear Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge first, the Chairman noted the issue had been raised before.

Kharge highlighted the Deputy Chairman’s recent statement on addressing matters in the “rarest of the rare” instances. Disagreement arose on defining such incidents, leading to a halt in proceedings. The disruption occurred amidst ongoing Opposition protests over police handling of student demonstrators in Delhi during the Monsoon Session.

Members laid papers on the House table, including parliamentary reports by Rwngwra Narzary on the Chemicals and Fertilisers Ministry. Ministers Suresh Gopi and Satish Chandra Dubey addressed their departments. The Business Advisory Committee allocated seven hours for The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, during the Lok Sabha introduction.
