Rajya Sabha MP Satish Poonia expressed strong support for the Uniform Civil Code, emphasizing the need for a single law to govern all citizens in India. Speaking at the Circuit House in Jodhpur, the BJP leader highlighted the importance of uniformity in law for national development. Poonia stressed that every individual in India, regardless of background, should be subject to the same legal framework.
Poonia also addressed the issue of delimitation, describing it as a constitutional process that has been in place since 1952. He emphasized the non-politicization of the delimitation exercise and underscored the significance of upholding constitutional institutions. Criticizing Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot, Poonia accused them of disregarding constitutional processes that do not align with their political agendas.
Expressing gratitude to the BJP leadership for his nomination to the Rajya Sabha, Poonia viewed the decision as a recognition of the hard work of numerous party members. He praised the BJP’s practice of rewarding dedicated grassroots workers based on merit and commitment. Additionally, Poonia responded to Ashok Gehlot’s comments on the Pachpadra refinery project, attributing its successful implementation to the BJP government’s efforts.
Upon his arrival in Jodhpur, Poonia was warmly welcomed by BJP supporters, who greeted him with drums and slogans.
