Well-known director Ram Gopal Varma has lauded director Chidambaram’s upcoming film ‘Balan’, known for the blockbuster ‘Manjummel Boys’, describing it as “beyond fantastic.” Varma shared a picture with Chidambaram on social media, expressing his amazement at the film. ‘Balan’ commenced its filming with a traditional pooja in Thiruvananthapuram on August 17 last year, with the initial phase spanning five days.
The movie ‘Balan’, produced by KVN Productions in collaboration with Thespian Films, has garnered significant attention for bringing together director Chidambaram and writer Jithu Madhavan, both stalwarts of Malayalam cinema. This venture also marks KVN Productions’ foray into Malayalam cinema, adding to its impressive filmography across various languages. Thespian Films, another production house involved in the project, announced the commencement of filming on their Instagram page.
‘Balan’, translating to ‘Boy’, is scripted by Jithu Madhavan and features a talented technical team. Noteworthy members include cinematographer Shyju Khaled, music director Sushin Syam, and editor Vivek Harshan. The film’s costumes are designed by Sapna Kajha Rawther, makeup by Ronex Xavier, and audiography by Shijin Melvin Hutton. Abhishek Nair and Ganapathi serve dual roles as casting director and executive producer.
