Congress CWC member Ramesh Chennithala stated that the Kerala High Court’s recent ruling on the Sprinklr data deal supports the Opposition’s stance. He called for accountability from the Pinarayi Vijayan government for engaging in an irregular and illegal contract. Chennithala dismissed CPI-M state Secretary M.V. Govindan’s call for an apology, criticizing his misinterpretation of the court’s decision.

Chennithala emphasized that the High Court’s judgment upheld his concerns regarding the sensitive health data transfer to Sprinklr. He highlighted procedural irregularities, including the lack of Cabinet approval and Chief Minister consent in the agreement. The court deemed the contract illegal and unconstitutional under Article 299 of the Constitution.

Referring to the Madhavan Nambiar Committee’s conclusions mentioned in the judgment, Chennithala pointed out violations of official procedures and failure to consult relevant departments. He underscored the court’s directive for the government to take action against those responsible and prevent similar lapses in the future. Chennithala stressed the need for accountability over political rhetoric in addressing the issue.
