Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat has arrived in Assam’s Hojai district under heavy security. His stay at Gita Ashram in Hojai for four nights has prompted stringent security measures by the local administration and police. The visit has attracted attention, with senior Sangh leaders and local officials welcoming Bhagwat at the ashram.
Security has been intensified around the ashram and its vicinity for Bhagwat’s visit, with security personnel strategically placed and movements closely monitored. Bhagwat is in Assam to participate in the ‘Karyakarta Vikas Varg (Second Year)’ training camp, part of the Sangh’s cadre development and leadership training activities. The training program will take place in Guwahati and involve swayamsevaks from various northeastern regions.
Bhagwat is expected to address participants on organizational expansion, social outreach, nation-building initiatives, and the role of cadres in strengthening grassroots activities. He will also engage with senior Sangh functionaries from Assam and other northeastern states during his stay. The ‘Karyakarta Vikas Varg’ is a crucial internal training program of the Sangh, focusing on enhancing leadership skills and organizational capabilities.
Security measures have been heightened in Guwahati ahead of Bhagwat’s visit, with local authorities coordinating for the smooth conduct of the program. This visit follows the recent swearing-in of the new National Democratic Alliance government in Assam, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has been actively expanding its organizational activities in the Northeast through various initiatives.
Bhagwat’s visit is scheduled to conclude on May 15 after the training program ends.
