2024 champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are excelling in the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL), with former pacer Kate Cross confident about their playoff qualification chances. Led by Smriti Mandhana’s impressive 96 runs, RCB secured an eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals, maintaining their unbeaten streak and top position in the points table at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy.
Cross praised RCB’s performance, highlighting their strong start after a shaky win against MI. With a comfortable lead over competitors, RCB’s stellar form has placed them in a favorable position as they head to Vadodara for the next phase of the tournament. Despite the absence of Ellyse Perry, Mandhana’s exceptional batting has been instrumental in RCB’s success.
Notable player Lauren Bell has also shined, particularly with her impactful bowling performances. Cross commended Bell’s match-changing spell against Delhi Capitals, emphasizing her crucial role as the team’s key bowler. Bell’s ability to take early wickets and her climb up the Purple Cap ladder have significantly contributed to RCB’s strong position in the league.
RCB is set to take on Gujarat Giants at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara for their upcoming match in the Women’s Premier League 2026.
