Supreme Court Judge Emphasizes Importance of District Judiciary
Supreme Court judge, Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, highlighted the crucial role of the district judiciary, advising judges to maintain composure in complex situations. He stressed the need for the justice system to align with constitutional principles, emphasizing the significance of quality justice delivery for public trust.
Justice Mishra, speaking at a seminar in Andhra Pradesh, praised India’s expansive judicial system and the constitutional values it upholds. He underscored the district judiciary’s key position in ensuring accessible justice for all citizens, urging judges to uphold values, enhance knowledge, and act as a bridge between law and justice.
The judge emphasized the importance of integrity in delivering judgments and the judiciary’s responsibility to protect constitutional values in all aspects of its functioning. He noted that while landmark judgments are significant, resolving everyday matters with integrity and public trust is equally vital. Judges were advised to exhibit calmness, patience, and impartiality in their decisions.
Andhra Pradesh High Court’s Chief Justice, Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur, reiterated the district judiciary’s essential role in upholding a quality life for all individuals. He emphasized the need for an uncompromising justice system to safeguard constitutional rights effectively. Justice Ravinath Tilhari highlighted the judiciary’s duty to protect civil rights, especially in sensitive cases involving women and children, emphasizing the importance of resolving disputes in line with constitutional principles.
