The minister emphasized that green jobs and entrepreneurship will drive the country towards a sustainable and eco-friendly economy.
Major initiatives like the National Green Hydrogen Mission, with a budget exceeding Rs 19,000 crore, are paving the way for cleaner industrial practices and reducing carbon footprints in sectors like steel and cement. Technological advancements are revolutionizing the electric mobility sector, making eco-friendly solutions more accessible and scalable. Additionally, opportunities in solar manufacturing, battery production, grid management, and biofuels are on the rise.
India’s vast coastline presents untapped potential in ocean energy, which is projected to complement solar and wind energy sources. The nation is also focusing on enhancing energy security by expanding nuclear power capacity and encouraging private sector involvement in critical areas like space and atomic energy. Initiatives like the Rs 1 lakh crore Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Fund aim to support startups and innovators through collaborative funding models.
Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized India’s commitment to leading the global green transition, driven by the vision of ‘Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE)’. He encouraged students and young researchers to actively participate in sustainability-driven opportunities, stressing that future growth will be shaped by innovation, adaptability, and informed decision-making.
