A retired Indian Army Colonel, Col Anil Yadav (retd), was allegedly assaulted in Gurugram following a minor vehicle collision that turned violent. The incident occurred on February 21 as he was driving back from visiting his ailing father at Medanta Hospital.

Col Yadav’s car reportedly grazed another vehicle, leading to a confrontation with six youths from the other vehicle. They physically attacked him, causing damage to his car and attempting to abduct him.

The accused individuals, after coercing him to transfer Rs 30,000 through a UPI transaction, fled the scene due to traffic congestion. Col Yadav sustained injuries and received medical treatment at Artemis Hospital before being discharged.

Gurugram Police, prompted by Col Yadav’s social media post about delayed police action, registered an FIR under relevant laws. Five accused individuals were arrested, while one suspect remains at large.
