In a disturbing incident in Nagaroor near Varkala, the father and brother of a woman were reportedly kidnapped, chained, and brutally assaulted following a rejected marriage proposal. The victims were threatened with death by explosives in a crime that resembled a scene from a Bollywood movie. The police are actively searching for the five accused individuals involved in this shocking case.
The prime suspect, identified as Sudheesh from Kummil, along with Shamnad and three others believed to be from Thiruvananthapuram district, are currently on the run. The accused have gone off the grid by turning off their mobile phones. Anil Kumar, a resident of Vadaserikonam, was tricked into visiting an under-construction house under the guise of a job opportunity by the main suspect, Sudheesh.
The father of the woman was allegedly abducted and kept in a soundproof room where he was chained and subjected to brutal assaults. Subsequently, his son Achu was also assaulted severely with a helmet after being summoned at knifepoint. The motive behind the attack seems to be Anil Kumar’s refusal to agree to his daughter’s marriage with the prime accused, leading to this horrific retaliation by the gang.
The attackers reportedly threatened to attach explosives to the victims and detonate them if the marriage proposal was not accepted. Additionally, they menaced to harm Anil Kumar’s daughter and had even planned to abduct his wife before being intercepted by the police. Anil Kumar sustained a fractured arm from the beatings, while Achu’s fingers were injured with pliers during the ordeal. Both victims are currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Varkala.
Upon searching the house where the victims were held captive, law enforcement discovered homemade bombs, a firearm, chains, and other lethal weapons, heightening suspicions of a more sinister plot by the gang. A joint police team from various stations in the capital district has initiated an extensive manhunt for the five absconding suspects. Authorities are also probing potential links of the gang to other criminal activities and are examining the origin of the recovered explosives and weapons.
