Ridhima Dilawari, who secured three wins earlier this season, shot a flawless 4-under 68 to top the leaderboard by one stroke alongside three players after the first round of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT) at the Zion Hills Golf Course in Kolar. She was closely followed by last week’s champion, Vani Kapoor, Amandeep Drall, and Vidhatri Urs, all trailing by one stroke at 3-under 69.
Ridhima, aiming to regain her spot on the Ladies European Tour and prepare for the Women’s Indian Open later this year, started with a birdie and maintained her lead with birdies on the tenth, 13th, and 14th holes, finishing with a string of pars. Vani Kapoor, a five-time winner last year, had a mixed round with seven birdies but also two bogeys and a double bogey.
Vidhatri Urs, a former three-time consecutive winner in 2024, displayed a solid performance with six birdies and three bogeys for her 69, while Amandeep Drall recorded five birdies but faced back-to-back bogeys on the seventh and eighth holes. Saanvi Somu secured fifth place with a 1-under 71, featuring one bogey and two birdies in her round.
Ananya Datar and Kashika Misra both carded even-par 72 to share the sixth spot, while Mannat Brar and Riya Jadon tied for eighth place with 1-over 73 each. A group of six players, including Prakruthi Sastry, Jasmine Shekar, Shagun Narain, Neha Tripathi, and amateurs Ananthi Vivek and Ananyaa Sood, shared the 10th spot with 2-over 74 each.
Notable names like Tvesa Malik, who scored 75, and Lavanya Jadon were placed Tied-16th. Vani Kapoor, fresh off her recent victory, is eager to continue her winning streak in the ongoing leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT). She is set to compete alongside Mannat Brar and amateur Tanishka Prithvi in the tournament.
Expected to face tough competition from a strong field including Ridhima Dilawari, Amandeep Drall, Tvesa Malik, and Saanvi Somu, Vani Kapoor aims to maintain her winning form and secure back-to-back titles.
