After a successful return from injury in the Men’s Hockey India League, Araijeet Singh Hundal, a promising Indian forward, is gearing up to participate in the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025–26 matches scheduled from February 10 to 15 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium. India’s first match is against Belgium on February 11.
Araijeet missed the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025 due to an injury sustained during training. He opted for rehab instead of surgery, focusing on recovery and exercises to make a strong comeback in time for the Hero HIL season. The young forward expressed the mental challenge of missing the Junior World Cup but emphasized his determination to return stronger.
During the HIL season, Araijeet performed well with Ranchi Royals, scoring three goals, including one in the final, as his team secured the runners-up position. He credited the league for boosting his confidence and momentum after his time off the field. Araijeet acknowledged the valuable experience gained from playing alongside senior and overseas players in the team.
Araijeet highlighted the benefits of partnering with veteran forward Mandeep Singh in Ranchi Royals, emphasizing the guidance and support received from him. He praised Mandeep’s experience and willingness to assist younger players, enhancing their learning and development. Araijeet expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play alongside Mandeep in the upcoming FIH Pro League matches.
In preparation for the FIH Men’s Pro League home leg, Araijeet expressed confidence in his training under Head Coach Craig Fulton. He emphasized the productive training sessions and the coach’s guidance on improving awareness and decision-making inside the circle. Araijeet shared his focus areas for the upcoming matches, aiming to minimize mistakes inside the circle and maintain discipline off the ball to contribute effectively to the team’s performance.
