Actor Riteish Deshmukh recently visited the renowned Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple in Pune following the success of his latest historical action drama, “Raja Shivaji.” Deshmukh mentioned that his late father, Vilasrao Deshmukh, used to make an annual visit to the temple as well.
Expressing his reverence for the temple, Deshmukh stated, “This is a very sacred temple. I try to come here every time. My father used to come here every year as well. In life, you do many things, but this film—‘Raja Shivaji’, which is based on the valor of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj—we have made with great dedication.”
Grateful for the positive reception of the film, Deshmukh expressed his thanks, saying, “When people gave such a good response to this film, I came here to thank them for it, to bow my head at the feet of Lord Ganesha. The struggle for this film had been going on for the past 10 years.”
Before his temple visit, Deshmukh also received a warm welcome in his hometown, Latur. Additionally, he and his wife, Genelia Deshmukh, sought blessings at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Temple in Biwandi, Thane.
“Raja Shivaji,” released on May 1, has garnered around Rs. 24 crore in just two days at the box office. The movie, which delves into the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, features a star-studded cast including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, and others.
