Surat (Gujarat), Dec 22 – The 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Men Academy Championship 2025 – Zone A & B kicked off at the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Hockey Ground in Surat, Gujarat, with Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy, Salute Hockey Academy, Sail Hockey Academy, Army Boys Sports Company, and S.G.P.C. Hockey Academy securing victories on the opening day.
In Pool C, Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy dominated Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy with an 11-1 win. Varinder Singh and Karan Kumar both scored hat-tricks, while Arjandeep Singh and Arshdeep Singh contributed braces. Ankit also found the net for the winners, with Alfesh Rajakbhai Musagara scoring the lone goal for Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy.
Salute Hockey Academy also triumphed in Pool C, defeating Cheema Hockey Academy 7-1. Saurabh Kumar scored a hat-trick for Salute Hockey Academy, supported by goals from Yogender Saini, Arun, Sunny, and Pankaj. Saihbaz Singh scored for Cheema Hockey Academy.
Moving to Pool B, Sail Hockey Academy secured a 3-1 victory against HAR Hockey Academy, with goals from Bikash Kaetha, Arun Lakra, and Captain Dinesh Barla. Jatin scored the solitary goal for HAR Hockey Academy.
In the same pool, Army Boys Sports Company overcame Markandeshwar Hockey Academy 3-1, with Arjun and Captain Prasnt Aind among the scorers. Garv Gill netted the only goal for Markandeshwar Hockey Academy.
S.G.P.C. Hockey Academy clinched a 1-0 win against Ritu Rani Hockey Academy in Pool D, courtesy of Khushbir Singh’s goal.
The tournament features teams competing in a round-robin format within their pools, with 3 points awarded for a win, 1 for a draw, and none for a loss. The pool winners will advance to the Semi-Finals scheduled for December 29, followed by the 3rd/4th place match and the Final on December 30, 2025.
