Congress leader Sachin Pilot, without naming anyone, emphasized the importance of truthfulness in politics and maintaining respect despite differences. He highlighted that personal animosity should not arise from political disagreements. Pilot’s remarks come amidst internal conflicts in the Rajasthan Congress, following recent comments by former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Speaking at a farmers’ conference and a statue unveiling event for his father, Rajesh Pilot, Sachin Pilot reiterated the need for politics to focus on public service rather than personal gains. He criticized the unfair handling of Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination in Madhya Pradesh and emphasized the significance of dialogue in resolving disputes.
Pilot also addressed the Panchna Dam water dispute in Karauli, urging the government to facilitate discussions for a lasting solution. He warned against divisive tactics based on caste and religion, advocating for unity and hard work as the true identifiers of individuals.
Remembering his father, Rajesh Pilot, Sachin Pilot described the statue unveiling as a symbol of public service, courage, and social harmony. The event witnessed criticism of Ashok Gehlot by Pilot loyalist Ramesh Meena, who alleged financial improprieties and electoral setbacks under Gehlot’s leadership.
Meena called for narco tests for both himself and Gehlot regarding allegations related to the 2020 political crisis. The ongoing verbal exchanges between Gehlot and Pilot’s supporters underscore the factional politics within the Rajasthan Congress, hinting at challenges ahead for the party.
