A fluent 79 by Saiteja Mukkamalla and Shubham Ranjane’s 48 not out led the United States to a strong total of 196/6 in 20 overs against the Netherlands in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. USA started briskly with Shayan Jahangir hitting aggressively, propelling them to 23 without loss in two overs.
Kyle Klein got the first breakthrough by dismissing Jahangir for 20 runs. Captain Monank Patel and Mukkamalla then built a 55-run partnership before Monank got out for 36. Mukkamalla continued the momentum, reaching his half-century with a six off Klein and showcasing a variety of shots.
Mukkamalla’s innings of 79 off 51 balls, supported by Ranjane’s 48 off 24 balls, helped USA accelerate in the final overs to reach 196/6. Despite regular wickets falling towards the end, the aggressive batting display proved challenging for the Netherlands bowlers.
