Sakshi Sunil Padekar secured the seventh position in the 10m Air Rifle women’s final at the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol in Munich, Germany. The 22-year-old from Maharashtra qualified for the final in third place after an impressive score of 635.1, following behind top shooters from China and South Korea.
In a closely contested final, the gold was clinched by 18-year-old Andelija Stevanovic of Serbia with a total score of 252.3. Japan’s Nobata Misaki claimed silver, while Wang Zifei of China settled for bronze. Sakshi displayed a strong performance throughout the final rounds, finishing with a score of 145.2 to secure the seventh spot.
Among other Indian participants, Elavenil Valarivan finished 19th, Arya Borse secured 63rd place, and Vidarsa K. Vinod and Tilottama Sen finished in 27th and 32nd places, respectively. Anish Bhanwala led the Indian contingent in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event, aiming for a top-eight finish in the upcoming rounds.
The competition in Munich remains intense, with three more finals scheduled for the next day in different shooting categories, marking the penultimate day of the event.
