Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, known for his collaboration with Javed Akhtar in Salim-Javed, has been urgently taken to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. His family members, including Bollywood star Salman Khan, daughters Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan, and actor Aayush Sharma, were spotted arriving at the hospital. Salman Khan left his shooting schedule in Madh Island to be with his father, who reportedly complained of swelling.
Salim Khan, who turned 90 in November last year, relocated to Mumbai in the 1950s and transitioned from acting to screenwriting. Partnering with Javed Akhtar, they became a renowned duo, penning several iconic films from 1971 to 1982. Their collaborations like ‘Sholay’, ‘Deewaar’, and ‘Don’ set new standards in Indian cinema, emphasizing strong narratives and memorable dialogues. Salim Khan’s contributions significantly influenced the careers of actors like Amitabh Bachchan.
After parting ways with Javed Akhtar in the early 1980s, Salim Khan continued his writing career with fewer releases. He is the father of actors Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan, with Alvira Khan Agnihotri being his daughter.
