Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav has urged the Election Commission to share live footage from counting centers during the 2027 Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. This request follows Mamata Banerjee’s claims of vote counting discrepancies in the recent West Bengal polls. Yadav emphasized the importance of transparency by stating that live coverage is a common technological practice and criticized the BJP for not embracing it.
Yadav highlighted the cordial relationship between Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress, mentioning Akhilesh Yadav’s meeting with Mamata Banerjee. Expressing skepticism towards the Election Commission’s impartiality, she accused it of favoring the BJP. Yadav also criticized the intimidating presence of security forces during elections in Uttar Pradesh, drawing parallels to the situation in West Bengal.
Addressing the party’s strategy for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh polls, Dimple Yadav emphasized collaboration with PDAs (Backward, Dalit, Minority) and raised concerns about the safety of women in the state. She criticized the lack of action by the Uttar Pradesh Police and government representatives in response to incidents of sexual assault. Yadav further alleged that states governed by the BJP are unsafe for women, citing the Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttar Pradesh.
