Saurashtra’s skipper Harvik Desai showcased an outstanding performance by scoring his first double century in the Ranji Trophy match against Chandigarh. Saurashtra declared their first innings at 453/3 with Desai unbeaten on 200 off 305 balls, supported by Jay Gohil’s 98 and Arpit Vasavada’s 96. Chandigarh’s Karthik Sandil and Rohit Dhanda managed to take only one wicket each.
Saurashtra gained a significant lead of 317 runs before Chandigarh started their second innings. At the end of day two, Chandigarh stood at 31 for no loss with Arjun Azad and Shivam Bhambri at the crease, trailing by 286 runs. Meanwhile, in Mohali, Punjab took the lead with Harpreet Brar’s four-wicket haul against Karnataka, who were steadied by Shreyas Gopal and Vidyadhar Patil.
Madhya Pradesh secured a narrow eight-run lead over Maharashtra in the first innings at Holkar Stadium. Kumar Kartikeya Singh’s impressive 6-33 restricted Maharashtra to 179, while MP reached 166/4 in their second innings with Shubham Sharma and Venkatesh Iyer contributing fifties. In Porvorim, Kerala’s Rohan Kunnummal’s unbeaten 132 guided his team to 237/2 against Goa, trailing by 118 runs.
