A group of scholars met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to discuss their initiative to promote Sufi culture as a means to foster unity and national integration. The Chairman of the All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council, Hazrat Syed Naseruddin Chishty, highlighted their ‘Mera Mulk, Meri Pehchan’ campaign aimed at uniting people of different faiths under a common cultural identity. This effort aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent offering at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah and emphasizes the importance of countering radical ideologies through inclusive practices.
The scholars emphasized the role of Sufi dargahs in welcoming individuals from all religions and serving as a platform to combat extremist narratives. They stressed the significance of national identity transcending religious affiliations, advocating for a unified Indian cultural and civilizational ethos. The mission of the Sufi Council focuses on spreading the message of love, compassion, and harmony to promote peace and unity across the nation.
Hazrat Syed Naseruddin Chishty reiterated the core values of Sufism, emphasizing the principles of compassion and universal love. He highlighted the AISSC’s efforts to propagate Sufi teachings and counter radical ideologies through their newly established Headquarters Office in Delhi. The scholars also underscored the pivotal role of responsible media in advancing values of brotherhood, tolerance, and national integration in society.
Accompanied by eminent Sufi scholars and respected Sajjadanashins from various regions, the Ajmer Dargah’s Sajjadanashin led discussions on fostering communal harmony and peace in the nation. The event aimed at promoting peace and unity, echoing the timeless message of peace advocated by the Sufi tradition.
