The search operation for accused Subodh Agarwal and others is ongoing across various states. It has been 16 days since the operation began on February 17, 2026, involving 40 dedicated search teams. These teams consist of senior police officials like Additional Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police, and Police Inspectors. The operation is under the close supervision of Deputy Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police to ensure efficient coordination.
Extensive searches have been conducted at over 100 locations in about 21 cities in Rajasthan and other states. Key locations include Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Nagaur, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Noida, Meerut, Prayagraj, and Mumbai, among others. Searches have covered various places such as the accused’s residences, properties of family members and associates, farmhouses, flats, hotels, and suspected hideouts. Approximately 50 individuals, including close relatives, friends, domestic staff, drivers, and those suspected of providing shelter, have been questioned.
Authorities are also conducting a comprehensive technical investigation, examining CCTV footage and digital evidence from residences and associated properties across five major cities. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are actively investigating the alleged Jal Jeevan Mission scam. The case, initiated by Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena in June 2023, involves around 20 individuals, including serving and retired officials and engineers. The ACB has intensified its actions, making continuous arrests in connection with the case.
Raids have been conducted at nearly 15 locations across Delhi, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand, resulting in the arrest of 10 accused individuals. Former IAS officer Subodh Agarwal, a key figure in the case, remains untraceable. The ACB has issued a lookout notice against him to prevent his potential escape abroad. Despite raids at his residences in Delhi and Jaipur, Agarwal has not been located since he reportedly left his residence and turned off his mobile phone on February 17.
