Security measures were heightened in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, particularly along the Line of Control (LoC), to boost operational readiness and safety awareness among civilians.
A large-scale mock drill was conducted by the Army in various parts of Poonch district to enhance operational preparedness and acquaint civilians with safety protocols in emergency scenarios.
The exercise, led by Rashtriya Rifles and other Army units, simulated a militant attack to evaluate evacuation procedures, emergency responses, and coordination among the Army, police, civil administration, and local residents.
Additional security deployments were made in Surankote and Mendhar amid intelligence inputs indicating potential militant infiltration or subversive activities in the area.
Officials urged the public to cooperate with security checks, refrain from spreading unverified information, and promptly report any suspicious activities or objects to the nearest security or police authorities.
