Former champions Sethu FC kicked off their 2025-26 Indian Women’s League season with a strong start, securing a 2-1 victory over Kickstart FC at the AIFF National Centre of Excellence in Kolkata. The match was intense, with both teams displaying attacking prowess right from the start. Kickstart FC took the lead in the 12th minute after a corner led to a penalty converted by Babysana Devi. Undeterred, Sethu FC fought back, with Kaviya Pakkirisamy equalizing in the 20th minute with a brilliant goal. In the second half, Malavika P’s goal from a set-piece secured the win for Sethu FC, despite efforts from Kickstart FC to level the score. Sethu FC’s solid defense ensured they claimed all three points in a confident league opener.
